Obra — Privacy Policy

Obra is an app for contractors to log daily job-site progress (photos, voice memos, notes) and turn it into a client-ready daily report. This policy explains what data Obra collects, why, and how it is handled.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your user identifier and, if provided, your email address and name. We use these to create and secure your account.
• Content you create. Photos and voice memos you capture, notes you type, on-device voice transcripts, generated daily reports, and the project details you enter — including project name and any client contact (name, email, phone) and job-site address you choose to add.
• Usage data. Privacy-light, aggregate product-interaction events (for example, that a report was generated or shared) to understand how the app is used and improve it. These events contain no names, emails, or message contents.

How we use your information

Your data is used solely to provide the app's functionality: storing your projects and media, generating your daily reports, and letting you share them. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or track you across other apps or websites. Obra does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA).

Generating reports

To write a daily report, the text of your notes and voice-memo transcripts for that day is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) through our secure server. Your name, email, account identifier, and client contact details are not sent for report generation.

Service providers

• Supabase — hosts authentication, database, and file storage on our behalf.
• Anthropic — generates report text from the day's notes and transcripts, as described above.
• PostHog — processes privacy-light usage analytics, when enabled.

These providers process data only to provide their service to Obra.

Data storage and security

Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored encrypted at rest. Access is restricted so that each account can only reach its own data.

Deleting your account and data

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly in the app: Settings → Delete Account. This removes your projects, photos, voice memos, notes, reports, and your account record. The action cannot be undone.

Children

Obra is intended for professional use and is not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
